What is a patient recall system?
A patient recall system is a structured process for identifying past patients who may benefit from returning to the clinic, and reaching out to them at the right time with the right message.
In healthcare, recall has long been used in dentistry and optometry, the reminder to book your six-month check-up or annual eye test. For MSK clinics, the same principle applies but with a different framing.
The goal is not to chase appointments for its own sake. It is to reconnect patients with care that may genuinely be relevant to them, whether that is a follow-up after a resolved episode, seasonal maintenance treatment, or reconnection after a longer gap.
